7 Verra-Vetted Data Service Providers (DSPs) for ARR Carbon Projects

Data service providers (DSPs) for carbon projects are digital MRV firms that Verra has vetted to supply stocking index data for afforestation, reforestation, and revegetation (ARR) projects under the VM0047 methodology.

The stocking index compares vegetation change in your project area with matched control areas, using satellite data, AI models, and field calibration. It sets the performance benchmark that determines how many credits a project earns. Verra named three DSPs in May 2026 and four more in September 2026.

1 Sylvera

Sylvera describes itself as a carbon data platform. It is best known for carbon credit ratings and also offers market intelligence, independent biomass data, and fieldwork services. Its stocking index data connects directly to the Verra Project Hub through an API.

Vetted May 2026. Best for developers who also want a rating on the resulting credits.

2 Kanop

A Paris-based startup that trains AI models on optical, radar, and LiDAR satellite data to build digital twins of forests and estimate biomass. It monitors reforestation projects for Ecosia, among others ( TNW, 2024).

Vetted May 2026. Best for reforestation programmes that need tree-level monitoring.

3 Chloris Geospatial

Provides forest biomass data built from satellite records, AI, and sensor fusion, with coverage going back to 2000. Its Series A of USD 8.5 million was led by Future Energy Ventures ( Coverager).

Vetted May 2026. Best for projects that need long historical baselines.

4 Treefera

An AI data platform for nature-based assets that combines satellite, drone, and ground data and delivers monitoring and risk analysis by API. It raised a USD 12 million Series A led by AlbionVC in 2024 ( Global AgInvesting). Like Sylvera, its data connects to the Verra Project Hub by API.

Vetted September 2026. Best for developers that also report to corporate buyers.

5 CYCLOPS

An AI platform for nature-based carbon projects covering ARR, REDD+, improved forest management, agroforestry, and blue carbon. It combines due diligence, project design, documentation, and ongoing MRV in one tool.

Vetted September 2026. Best for developers running several project types.

6 Lobelia Earth

A Barcelona-based earth observation company that turns satellite data into climate and environmental information products.

Vetted September 2026.

7 TransparenC

A Munich-based carbon data company, vetted by Verra to supply stocking index data for VM0047 projects.

Vetted September 2026.

How to Choose a DSP

Ask each provider for sample stocking index outputs over landscapes like yours, how it selects control areas, how often data is refreshed, and whether it delivers straight into the Project Hub. Compare pricing per hectare and per monitoring period, and check that your validation and verification body is comfortable with the approach.

FAQ

Do I have to use a vetted DSP?

No. Projects can use benchmark data from other providers, but expect more scrutiny in review.

Does a vetted DSP guarantee registration?

No. Verra and the validation and verification body still review each project and its data.
