Bill Avalisation Services
An aval is a bank's guarantee written on a bill of exchange or promissory note. We help you set it up so it can be relied on and, where needed, turned into cash.
Start Client IntakeWho This Is For
Exporters selling on deferred payment terms who want bank-backed payment without a full letter of credit, and buyers asked to provide an avalised draft. It also suits traders who want paper that a forfaiting or discounting desk will buy.
What FG Capital Advisors Does
- Check whether an avalised bill, a letter of credit or another instrument fits the trade.
- Structure the bill or note: tenor, governing law, wording and the avalising bank.
- Prepare the file for the buyer's bank and approach banks willing to add the aval.
- Approach discounting and forfaiting desks if you want early payment.
- Coordinate the document flow through to presentation and payment.
How The Process Works
Submit the trade through our intake. We review it, and where it fits our scope we issue a written proposal. Once engaged, we build the file, run the bank and investor approach and coordinate signing, the aval and any discounting. See our avalised bills of exchange guide for the mechanics.
What To Send In The Intake
The sales contract, invoice amount and currency, payment tenor, buyer name and country, the buyer's bank (if known), whether you need early payment, and your company profile. For LC-based alternatives, see our letter of credit placement page.

Start Client IntakeFrequently Asked Questions
What does avalisation mean in trade finance?
A bank signs an aval on a bill of exchange or promissory note, guaranteeing payment at maturity. The exporter then holds bank risk instead of buyer risk.
Is an avalised bill the same as a letter of credit?
No. A letter of credit pays against compliant documents. An avalised bill is an unconditional payment promise backed by the bank's guarantee, with fewer document checks.
Can an avalised bill be discounted?
Often yes. Forfaiting and discounting desks may buy avalised paper without recourse, subject to their review of the bank, the country and the tenor.
